According to a recent survey by the Austrian Hotel Association (ÖHV) in cooperation with Reppublika Research & Analytics, 29% of Austrians are planning a holiday during the autumn holidays, 58% of them within Austria.

Popular travel destinations are mainly Styria, followed by Vienna, Lower Austria, Carinthia, Salzburg and Tyrol, which share second place. The high quality of the domestic tourism offering is particularly praised, with 60% of respondents rating holidays in Austria as "very good". Nature and landscape are the most common reasons for the travel decision.
