On the national holiday, the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in Vienna will open its doors to interested visitors from 12:00 to 17:00. At Minoritenplatz 8, guests will have the opportunity to find out about the diverse tasks and global services offered by the Foreign Ministry.
A varied program awaits visitors under the motto "There for you worldwide". They learn how to behave in an emergency abroad, what advantages travel registration offers and what support the Foreign Ministry can provide in crisis situations. Employees in emergency jackets are on hand to answer questions about travel regulations and consular issues and to give helpful travel tips.
A highlight of the day will be live broadcasts to Austrian embassies around the world, where young diplomats will provide insights into their work in crisis regions. Topics such as the challenges of setting up new representations and daily work in holiday regions will be covered.
There is also the opportunity to find out more about Austria's commitment to humanitarian aid, women's and human rights, and disarmament. Those interested can also find out about various career opportunities in the Foreign Ministry. The day will be accompanied by live concerts by Austrian artist Liz Metta, who will be performing as part of the New Austrian Sound of Music program.
