On March 6, 2022, the Maltese airline Corendon Europe started a non-stop connection between Paderborn/Lippstadt and Hurghada in Egypt. This route is to be operated until April 24, 2022.

Medium-haul jets of the type Boeing 737-800 with 189 seats are used. From June 27, Air Cairo will continue to operate twice-weekly flights to Hurghada in cooperation with SunExpress.

“We are very pleased with the commitment of the airlines. The connection to Hurghada enables the people in our catchment area to enjoy a comfortable journey into the sun from their home port. Egypt is also particularly attractive in spring because the temperatures there are already very pleasant,” says Airport Managing Director Roland Hüser.
