Passenger numbers: Significant recovery in Dresden and Leipzig

The East German airports of Dresden and Leipzig/Halle together served 2022 passengers in the first half of 901.582. In direct comparison with the same period last year, this means an enormous increase, because there were only 2021 travelers in the first six months of 95.287.

After a record result in 2021, the volume of freight is above the level of the previous year. With 48.278 take-offs and landings, the number of flight movements at both airports significantly exceeded the figure of 39.634 in the first half of 2021.

From January to June 2022, Leipzig/Halle Airport counted 572.848 passengers. In the same period of the previous year, there were 57.227. The number of flight movements increased by 12,5 percent to 38.817. Cargo volume in the first half of the year was over 767.559 tons, an increase of 0,2 percent. In 2021, throughput at Europe's fourth-largest cargo airport set a new record at around 1,6 million tons.

329.004 passengers were counted at Dresden Airport in the first six months of this year. In the previous year there were 38.060. The number of take-offs and landings in Dresden increased by 84,7 percent to 9.461.
