After many years in the aviation industry, the group spokesman will return to Erste Bank Group. Tanja Gruber succeeds the AUA.

There is a change in management in corporate communications at Austrian Airlines, as the long-standing head of communications, Peter Thier, will be leaving the group at the end of September 2020 to join the Erste Bank Group. The successor at AUA will be Tanja Gruber, who is currently Head of the Communications Distribution & Media Relations department.

Thier will take over the management of corporate communications at Erste Bank Group and will also act as deputy head of Brand Strategy & Communications. At Austrian Airlines, Gruber takes on the role of company spokeswoman and will head the Corporate Communications department on an ad interim basis.

Barbara Greul will also take over part of Peter Thier's previous agendas. She heads the Communications Strategy & Content Production department. The media team continues to exist as Marleen Pirchner, Leonhard Steinmann and Vanessa Schmidt.

“Peter’s departure hurts us a lot. In the most recent crisis of this unprecedented pandemic, he made a significant contribution to stabilizing Austrian Airlines with his level-headed and professional communication. I wish Peter every success imaginable in his future role at Erste Group, ”said AUA General Director Alexis von Hoensbroech.
