Even before the Corona crisis, Vienna-Schwechat Airport tackled the expansion of baggage claim. To this end, an area of Terminal 2 was renovated, which will provide more capacity in the future. This zone is not yet in operation, but construction has already made great progress.

In the new baggage claim area in Terminal 2 there are additional baggage claim belts that will supplement the inventory in Terminal 3. This area is close to the one that would be used for many years prior to the opening of T3. The extension of the baggage claim is not yet completely finished, but the following photo gallery gives an outlook on what the passengers will expect. Only a very small area is used sporadically to carry out Covid entry controls.
