The Icelandic low-cost airline Play started a non-stop connection between Keflavik and Hamburg on Tuesday 16 May 2023. This will initially be served three times a week.

"Starting today, Play connects Iceland with the cosmopolitan Hanseatic city and the associated large catchment area. In this way, we are opening up new travel options for passengers – even on a small budget,” explains Birgir Jónsson, CEO of Play. “As the second largest city in Germany with above-average purchasing power, the metropolis fits perfectly into our continuously growing route network. We look forward to the new partnership and to offering our North German guests a first-class travel experience.”
