The Luftburg - Kolarik restaurant in the Prater in Vienna will be carrying out extensive renovation work from January 7, 2025. The focus of the renovation is on the redesign of the employee area, which includes a state-of-the-art lounge, a prayer room, and new cloakrooms and office space. The aim is to improve working conditions for the international team. However, the business will not remain completely closed during the renovation phase: From January 16 to March 16, 2025, the "Pop-Up at the Neighbor" will open in Prater 122.
In addition to the measures for the staff, operational processes are also being optimized. The sink and delivery are being modernized to ensure more efficient work processes. The renovation also includes an extension of the existing photovoltaic system, while the heating and cooling system will be converted to water energy in the future.
During the renovation phase, the pop-up restaurant will offer the popular Luftburg classics such as grilled pork knuckles and schnitzel as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes in 100% organic quality. The pop-up is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 12 and 20 p.m.
The Luftburg was founded in 1992 and has been run by Paul and Bianca Kolarik since 2020. The restaurant is the largest fully certified organic restaurant in the world and has received several awards for its commitment, most recently in 2023 with the EU Organic Award in the category “Best Organic Restaurant”.
