RUAG Aerostructures Schweiz AG: Pilatus takes over employees and machines

Advertising

From the second quarter of the current year, the approximately 230 employees and the machinery of RUAG Aerostructures Schweiz AG are to be taken over by Pilatus. The transaction takes place within the framework of RUAG International's strategic goals set by the Federal Council. In the future, Pilatus' own components will be manufactured at the Emmen site.

RUAG Aerostructures Switzerland has been producing parts and components for Pilatus aircraft since the early 90s. These include, among other things, PC-21 structures or the horizontal stabilizer of the PC-12. By taking on all employees and the entire machine park, Pilatus can not only expand its own production capacities, but also expand them with new skills.

Pilatus will rent a large area from RUAG Real Estate AG Switzerland at the new location at Emmen airfield. In the future, we will only produce our own parts and components that are required for aircraft production in Stans. Orders from third-party customers that RUAG Aerostructures Switzerland has previously produced will be continued by Pilatus on behalf of RUAG Aerostructures Switzerland for a limited period of time.

A separate agreement between RUAG Real Estate AG and Pilatus also regulates the possibility of taking over an adjacent building plot, which offers Pilatus additional development prospects. Against this background, the partnership with RUAG will be deepened and additional jobs will be created in the medium to long term.
