Ryanair eradicates Lauda relics at Vienna Airport

Advertising

The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has removed the last relics of laudamotion that are obvious to travelers from Vienna Airport. Advertising posters at the entrance and exit as well as oversized neon advertising on a side wall of the station were removed and replaced with subjects from Ryanair.

With the resumption of flight operations in June 2020, the Lauda route network, which was offered under the OE code from Vienna, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Palma de Mallorca, was discontinued. The sister company Ryanair DAC has taken over most of the routes. Laudamotion acted as a wetlease subsidiary before the end of the year AOC and operating license have been returned.

The Maltese was the successor Lauda Europe launched. Apart from charter flights, this is exclusively on the wet lease for the sister company Ryanair DAC. The former Lauda Bases in Düsseldorf and Stuttgart was closed. Lauda Europe has bases in Vienna, Zadar, Zagreb and Palma de Mallorca.

The Lauda brand is no longer used to market airline tickets. Company boss David O'Brien recently denied that the Use of the fire has been completely abandoned. While the Laudamotion sales website has long been deactivated and redirected to Ryanair, Lauda Europe only posted a few weeks ago own page on the net. In the technical operations at Vienna Airport, the Lauda logos also removed.
