In spite of the drastically tightened entry regulations that the Austrian Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) issued for the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark, 40 to 60 percent of the planes landing in Salzburg are occupied.

Airport spokesman Alexander Klaus quantified this occupancy in relation to ORF Salzburg. He also emphasizes that so far there have been no deletions from the new virus variant areas. Nevertheless, it is expected that one or the other connection could be canceled shortly. But what counts is the overall result that is at the end of the season. At the moment, one can neither estimate the possible extent of the deletions nor the effects on the entire season. Around 2022 incoming flights to Salzburg are planned for January 420.

Wolfgang Mückstein has issued particularly strict entry and quarantine regulations for the countries mentioned in the first paragraph. This "Virus variant club”Is harshly criticized by local tourism. Without segregation, only people who can show three vaccinations against Covid-19 and a negative PCR test can enter.
