SAS is leaving the Star Alliance on August 31, 2024

Effective August 31, 2024, the Scandinavian airline SAS will leave the Star Alliance aviation alliance. You will join the Skyteam around Air France-KLM.

SAS is a founding member of the Star Alliance and has therefore been part of this alliance, which is dominated in Europe by the Lufthansa Group, from the very beginning. Due to the fact that a consortium that includes Air France-KLM is taking over the Scandinavian carrier, they are moving to Skyteam. The formal withdrawal from the Star Alliance will take effect on August 31, 2024.
