Saudia airline plans to put its first Airbus A321XLR into active scheduled service in the course of 2024. The carrier has ordered a total of 15 units of this type.
In this context, CH-Aviation.com reports, citing company boss Ibrahim al-Koshy, that the A321XLR model is to be used on routes to Europe and Asia as well as within the Arab region. The manager expects the order to be fully delivered by the end of 2026.
Saudia already caused a stir this year, because it organized around three billion US dollars from various banks. With this funding they want to buy around 70 new aircraft. According to reports, intensive negotiations are ongoing with Airbus and Boeing.
