The German tour operator Schauinsland-Reisen takes over the majority of the holiday airline Sundair and its Croatian sister airline FlyAir41. One wants to "establish itself even more strongly in the market in the future" with both brands.
Schauinsland-Reisen was already involved in Sundair. From the founding of the company to the registration of the protective shield procedure, which was completed in the course of the corona pandemic, they held 49 percent. The carrier was then fully owned by Managing Director Marcos Rossello. Later, the sister company FlyAir41, based in Croatia, which mainly flies in the wet lease for Sundair, was also founded.
Schauinsland-Reisen has now announced that it has taken over the majority of both airlines. Managing Director Gerald Kassner explains: "By investing in Sundair and the Croatian sister airline FlyAir41, we can secure even more capacity in the market, react quickly to current developments at any time and use synergy effects in joint flight planning," explains Gerald Kassner. "In addition, we will have the opportunity in the future to serve niche markets more intensively if necessary."
It is also said that existing tour operator contracts and Sundair scheduled flights should be continued on their own account. It is emphasized that the employees of both carriers would benefit, because according to their own statements, Schauinsland-Reisen would exist as the majority owner for security and continuity. The tour operator also writes that "as the majority shareholder, you would stand fully behind Marcos Rossello and his team". Together, the two airlines operate nine Airbus A320 series aircraft. "We can act even more independently on the market and look forward to our future together," says Schauinsland boss Kassner.
