Schauinsland-Reisen retains the commission model

The German tour operator Schauinsland-Reisen intends to continue paying brokerage commissions in the coming year. These should be at least ten percent and can increase to up to 13 percent depending on the sales volume.

Some tour operators have already started to stop paying commissions for the brokerage of their products. In aviation, zero-commission models, in which travel agencies can add their own service fees, have already established themselves. Only a few carriers remunerate their intermediaries. In the area of package tours, zero commission models are still the exception.

"We made a conscious decision to announce early on that we will retain our current commission arrangements for the coming year," says Schauinsland-reisen sales manager Detlef Schroer. "We want to enable travel agencies to plan reliably."
