Skyalps expands fleet to 14 Dash 8-400

The regional airline Skyalps intends to significantly expand its fleet by March 2024. In the future, 14 de Havilland Dash 8-400 will be operated and at least three of them will be stationed at southern Italian airports.

It has been known for some time that Skyalps wants to fleet at least ten turboprop aircraft of this type. Currently the fleet consists of four copies. In the near future, scheduled flights will also be offered outside of the Bolzano home base. These are the routes Verona-Rome (Fiumicino) and Düsseldorf-Linz.

Company boss Alex Spinato confirmed to Air Transport World that the fleet will be expanded accordingly by March 2024 and at least three airports will be stationed at southern Italian airports. Probably for reasons of competition, one has not yet looked deeper into the cards. In a few days, the fleet will be expanded from four to five de Havilland Dash 8-400. Also, one lets the machines step by step retrofit with special winglets.
