Slight increases in fuel prices in Austria in October 2024

In October, fuel prices in Austria rose slightly. The price of diesel was 1,513 euros per liter, while gasoline was slightly cheaper at 1,501 euros.

These increases of around two cents for diesel and 1,5 cents for petrol are moderate compared to September. Geopolitical tensions, such as in the Middle East, led to price fluctuations on the crude oil market, but the impact on domestic prices was minor. Despite a slight increase in price levels, costs remain stable at around 1,50 euros per litre.

According to experts, the influence of heating oil demand on diesel prices is becoming increasingly smaller, as heating oil consumption has been steadily declining in recent years.
