SmartLynx Airlines Malta continues to develop into a freight specialist within the group of companies. The carrier announced that three Airbus A2021-330s will join the fleet from the end of June 300.

These are former passenger planes that have been "converted" into so-called Preighters. A complete conversion is not planned - at least at the moment. Smartlynx Malta's fleet currently consists of one A320 and one A321. Two A321-200P2F (freighter) are to be added shortly. These machines are used for the logistics group DHL.

“We know that the long-haul freight market will return to pre-COVID levels at some point. Therefore, SmartLynx Airlines plans to use the Airbus A330 aircraft again for long-haul passenger flights at this point in time. We believe that our cost-effective structure and high efficiency will enable us to create competition for market veterans, ”said company director Zygimantas Surintas.
