The Spanish Supreme Court has increased the compensation paid to fourteen relatives of seven victims of the Germanwings crash that happened a few years ago. They had sued against the reduction that had previously been made.

It is noteworthy that the accident was compared to a traffic accident on the road. A 50 percent increase in compensation was awarded. It was judged that the cut was also inappropriate due to the intentional actions of a crew member and only aggravated the suffering of the relatives.

The 14 people had rejected the agreements offered by Germanwings. The case then ended up in court. The Spanish Supreme Court also found that the 50.000 euros already paid by the carrier is merely an advance payment for future compensation, but by no means a final payment.
