SR Technics has opened a new maintenance workshop for Pratt & Whitney GTF engines at Zurich Airport.

This facility is the 17th location in the global GTF network and enables the complete disassembly, assembly and testing of the PW1100G-JM engines used on the Airbus A320 Neo series. The official opening took place on September 19 and was attended by representatives from Pratt & Whitney and employees from SR Technics.

The investment in the workshop amounts to a double-digit million amount and includes new tools, equipment and training. As part of the agreement with Pratt & Whitney, SR Technics plans to service up to 1000 GTF engines during the contract period and has already started work on the first engine in July 2024. CEO Owen McClave praised the work done by the team and emphasized the importance of this investment for future business development.
