This week, the Lufthansa subsidiary Discover Airlines is experiencing significant disruptions to flight operations. The reason for this is a four-day strike by pilots and cabin crew, which the unions Ufo and Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) have called for in the fight for a collective agreement. The strike, which is scheduled to last from Tuesday, August 27th to Friday, August 30th, affects all departures in Germany, particularly from Munich and Frankfurt airports.
Air passenger rights expert Nina Staub from AirHelp informs that affected passengers are entitled to compensation of up to 600 euros if their flight is delayed by more than three hours or cancelled. In addition, passengers can request alternative transport if the delay is three hours or more. If the delay is more than five hours, they are also entitled to a refund of the ticket price. Discover Airlines is obliged to provide meals, drinks and, if necessary, accommodation in the event of longer delays.
