A few days ago, the holiday airline Condor published its 2024 summer flight schedule. It is striking that no flights from Vienna-Schwechat are included. During the last two summer periods, the carrier had some hot water routes from this airport in its program.

A Condor spokeswoman confirmed to Aviation.Direct that the preliminary flight plan for summer 2024 was recently published and currently does not include any routes from Vienna-Schwechat. However, there can be no question of a withdrawal: "Since not all talks have been concluded, changes and adjustments are reserved".

In other words, it is still completely open whether Condor will offer flights from Vienna-Schwechat in the summer of 2024 or not. In any case, the German aviation company has not confirmed that it would withdraw from the federal capital.

Even before the corona pandemic, there was a trend in Vienna that some carriers plan at short notice for reasons of competition and communicate new routes or release them for booking much later than was previously the case. Especially during the crisis, many airlines have adjusted their tourist routes frequently and often with little lead time, as demand has been extremely dynamic.

So it remains to be seen how the talks referred to by the Condor media officer will go. The outcome should then depend on whether the holiday airline will be present in Vienna in the summer of 2024 or not.
