The German airport Cologne/Bonn expects to be used by around 1,7 million travelers during the summer holidays. This would exceed the volume of the same period last year by about seven percent.

The busiest times are the first outbound weekend of June 23-25 and the last return weekend of August 4-6, each with over 110.000 passengers. On the busiest day (4 August), more than 40.000 travelers are expected to take off and land in Cologne/Bonn.

“The summer holidays are one of the most beautiful and at the same time busiest times at the airport. This year we are once again seeing a pleasing increase in the number of passengers and have implemented numerous innovations over the past few months so that our guests can start their vacation as pleasantly as possible," says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. “We have introduced new digital services, made structural improvements and created modern lounge areas. The redesign of the boarding pass control in Terminal 1 will also be completed in time for the start of the holiday season.”
