With the start of the summer holidays in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland next weekend, the peak travel season at Vienna Airport also begins. Around 28 air travelers are expected for the first holiday weekend from June 30 to 2024, 300.000. Overall, Vienna Airport expects 2024 to 9 million passengers in the busy travel months of July to September 10, which will reach the level of the record summer of 2019 before the corona pandemic.

Popular destinations for Austrians in the summer are Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey. Vienna Airport has prepared well for the expected rush: more staff at the security checkpoints, efficient processes and numerous passenger services should ensure that everything runs smoothly. Travelers are asked to allow enough time for check-in and security checks in order to start their vacation in a relaxed manner.

Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG, thanked the airport's employees and partners for their efforts and stressed the importance of good preparation for summer travel. Vienna Airport offers fast track services, self-baggage drop-off, modern lounges and numerous dining options to make passengers' stay as pleasant as possible. There is special support and rental strollers for travelers with limited mobility and families.
