At the end of its 20th company anniversary, the Swiss Lufthansa subsidiary, in cooperation with Switzerland Tourism, will christen 20 Airbus A220-100/300 aircraft in the names of Swiss tourist regions and locations.

Swiss concludes its 20th company anniversary with a special campaign: 20 Airbus A220-100/300 aircraft are named after various Swiss tourism regions to represent the diversity of the Swiss tourism landscape above the clouds. In cooperation with Switzerland Tourism, a competition was launched in December last year, in which more than 50 destinations submitted creative entries. The applications were checked by a jury for the four factors of creativity, originality, authenticity and their connection to Swiss.

“We received a lot of excellent and original applications, making a selection wasn't easy. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants for their creative commitment and we are very pleased to be able to carry the various unique regions of Switzerland out into the world with our aircraft," says Anja Beeler, Head of Strategic Communications & Content Creation.

By means of a global vote, the Swiss community also determined three winners, who each received an aircraft christening on site in the hangar for their very creative application. These are Bad Zurzach (AG), Nendaz (VS) and Viamala (GR). Over the course of the year, the airline will hold two of these ceremonies at Zurich Airport and one at Geneva Airport for these destinations.
