August 2024 will be a musical and organizational challenge for Vienna, as pop icon Taylor Swift will be performing three consecutive, completely sold-out concerts at the Ernst Happel Stadium.

From August 8th to 10th, around 170.000 fans are expected to attend, looking forward to unforgettable evenings with one of the greatest artists of our time. But what should concertgoers know to enjoy this event to the fullest? Here you will find all the important information about the concerts, how to get there and the safety regulations.

Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated concerts will take place on the following dates:

  • 8 August 2024 – Vienna, Ernst Happel Stadium
  • 9 August 2024 – Vienna, Ernst Happel Stadium
  • 10 August 2024 – Vienna, Ernst Happel Stadium

These dates sold out quickly, and due to huge demand, an additional date, August 8, 2024, was even added.

House rules at the Ernst Happel Stadium

To ensure smooth operations and the safety of all visitors, the Ernst Happel Stadium has strict house rules. Some of the most important rules include the prohibition of certain items:

  • Bags larger than A4 format
  • Photo cameras with removable lenses or focal lengths greater than 200 mm
  • Video cameras, GoPros, tablets, selfie sticks
  • Umbrellas, cans, glass bottles, PET bottles, Tetrapaks from 0,25 liters
  • Tupperware for food, laptops, laser pointers, fireworks (including sparklers)
  • Weapons of any kind (including knives, pepper sprays), drones

Visitors should strictly observe these rules to avoid delays and inconveniences upon entry.

Ticket purchase and resale

The tickets for the Taylor Swift concerts were sold out in no time. Anyone who still wants to get a ticket will have to resort to the reseller market. However, caution is advised here: platforms such as "Viagogo" are often associated with high prices and risks, as the Chamber of Labor (AK) has already warned several times about dubious practices. A safe alternative is the "Fansale" ticket exchange from Eventim, where tickets can be resold at fair prices and in compliance with the original prices.

Getting to the Ernst Happel Stadium

The Ernst Happel Stadium is easily accessible by public transport. The U2 subway line goes directly to the “Stadion” station. Alternatively, you can take the U3 line to “Schlachthausgasse” and change there to bus line 77A. However, due to modernization work on the main line, there will be no trains between Floridsdorf and Praterstern during the summer months (June 29th to September 2nd), which will lead to an increase in passenger volume. It is therefore recommended that you allow enough time for your journey and use the alternative transport options.

Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour”: A global phenomenon

Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" is a global phenomenon and one of the most successful tours of recent years. The tour features spectacular stage sets, elaborate costumes and an impressive selection of songs from Swift's extensive repertoire. With hits from different phases of her career, Swift takes her audience on a musical journey through time.

The concerts of the "Eras Tour" were enthusiastically received by fans and critics alike. The energetic performances and the intimate connection that Swift creates with her audience make for unforgettable experiences. On social media, fans are already full of anticipation and are exchanging tips and experiences in order to best prepare for the concerts.

Safety precautions and recommendations

Given the large crowds and strict security measures, it is advisable to arrive early and be well prepared. Concertgoers should familiarize themselves with the house rules to avoid unnecessary delays. It is also recommended to use public transport and to avoid large bags and prohibited items.

Taylor Swift's upcoming concerts at the Ernst Happel Stadium are a highlight of Vienna's 2024 concert year. With sold-out shows and a huge fan base, Swift will captivate the city for three nights. Fans should prepare well, follow the house rules and arrive early to enjoy an unforgettable concert experience.
