The Association of Friends of Linz Airport celebrated its founding on September 10, 2022, 40 years ago. The anniversary celebration could also be held directly at Linz Airport.
The close cooperation with Linz Airport also made it possible for aircraft such as the Flying Bulls T-6 or European Air Charter's McDonnell Douglas MD-82 to take part in the anniversary celebrations. In addition, the guests were of course also spoiled with culinary delights, with Heurigen snacks from the Ederhof in Rutzing and free drinks. In addition to the obligatory anniversary cake with the appropriate icing, there were also other small desserts. The raffle, for which the club board was able to collect well over 40 non-cash prizes, was also very well received by the guests and was one of the highlights of the event.
"In the last 2 years, our club members have had to put up with numerous hardships due to the corona pandemic, so we are taking this raffle as an opportunity to say a big thank you for your loyalty," said club chairman Robert Lang. In addition to annual memberships, books and gastro vouchers, simulator hours for the Boeing 737 in alcoves and a helicopter at RotorSky, sightseeing flights, travel vouchers for Linz Airport and beautiful trips were awarded. The main prize was a one-hour scenic flight in a Globeair private jet.
In addition, the existence of the association for more than 40 years has also been recorded in an anniversary publication, which is available free of charge at upcoming events and at the information stand in the arrivals hall at Linz Airport.
