From life-saving medical facilities to iconic film props to animal welfare projects, logistics giant DHL is proving in 2024 that the limits of what is possible in logistics are far-reaching. Five outstanding projects demonstrate the versatility and precision of the world's leading logistics provider.

In August 2024, DHL took over the transport of the paralyzed chimpanzee Chocolat from Kenya to the UK. Chocolat, who was rescued from illegal trade as a baby, was given a new home in the renowned "Monkey World" in Dorset. The journey required tailor-made planning: a specially made box ensured comfort and safety. Accompanied by animal experts, DHL mastered the 7.000-kilometer route without any problems.

James Bond on the Road

The world of 007 on tour: Over 130 James Bond props, including 27 cars such as the legendary Aston Martin DB5, were transported from Prague to Vienna. DHL used 22 trucks, including special vehicles for the sensitive objects. The transport of a snowmobile and a destroyed helicopter posed particular challenges, but these were mastered through precise planning and technical know-how.

The largest vulture relocation in history

A record-breaking project took place in January 2024, when 163 endangered vulture species were relocated in South Africa. With the help of two large transporters and a team of 50 volunteers, DHL ensured that the 18-hour journey was safe and stress-free. This logistical masterpiece strengthens species conservation and demonstrates how diverse the work of a logistics company can be.

musical masterpiece

The London Philharmonic Orchestra's Japan tour required the transport of 60 valuable instruments over thousands of kilometers. DHL met the challenge of transporting the sensitive items safely and under optimal conditions. From air transport to seamless temperature control, every stage was meticulously planned.

A hospital travels around the world

One highlight was the transport of the world's first mobile heart clinic from Germany to El Salvador. Eleven containers with the latest medical equipment enabled life-saving operations for children. After the successful deployment, the clinic traveled on to Africa, with DHL once again proving its global expertise.

DHL's extraordinary projects in 2024 are an impressive example of the versatility of modern logistics. With precision, creativity and global reach, the company masters even seemingly impossible tasks.
