The supervisory board of Austrian Airlines has officially appointed Lufthansa manager Annette Mann as the new general director. She will take office on March 1, 2022. CCO Michael Trestl and COO Francesco Sciortino remain on the board.

The latter two managers are currently acting ad-interim as equal CEOs, since Alexis von Hoensbroech leave company and meanwhile has his new job at the Canadian west jet.

Annette Mann will also take over the financial fortunes of Austrian Airlines. The previous division of agendas is thus retained and also puts the area of finance under the responsibility of the CEO. Incidentally, for the first time in the history of AUA, a woman is at the helm of the carrier.

The six members of the supervisory board would like to thank the two board members, Michael Trestl and Francesco Sciortino, for the smooth transition period. Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board Christina Foerster: "Michael Trestl and Francesco Sciortino managed the company excellently even in this phase, despite the ongoing pandemic. All the prerequisites for a good start for Annette Mann are therefore in place. With Annette Mann, Austrian Airlines will have a top manager with broad expertise at its helm. We are certain that together with the Austrian team and soon more passengers on board, the upswing will succeed and we look forward to working together!”
