At the start of the autumn holidays in Austria, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg (27-31 October), the ÖAMTC warns of delays on important road connections, especially in western Austria.

Construction sites on the Brenner Autobahn (A13) and the Tauern Autobahn (A10) as well as excursion and shopping traffic will further aggravate the situation. In good weather, there will also be increased traffic in the Salzkammergut.

The main traffic jams include the Brenner Autobahn (A13) in front of the Schönberg toll station and the construction site at the Luegbrücke, as well as the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in the single-lane construction site area between Golling and Werfen. Delays of more than an hour are possible. In addition, a closure of the railway line over the Deutsches Eck due to construction work from October 25th to November 4th will result in additional car traffic. The start of the Ski World Cup in Sölden (October 26th-27th) and events for the national holiday on October 26th will also lead to traffic disruptions. From November 1st, winter tires will also be mandatory, depending on the weather.
