Traffic situation in Austria: Quiet weekend with exceptions

Next weekend, traffic on the roads in Austria will be mostly quiet. However, there are three significant exceptions that could cause longer delays and traffic jams: the "Caravan Salon" in Wels, the "Graz Football Derby" and the "Table Tennis European Championships" in Linz.

The "Caravan Salon Austria" will take place from October 16 to 20, 2024 at the exhibition center in Wels and is expected to attract over 45.000 visitors. Around 230 exhibitors will present offers for motorhomes, caravans and campsites. Traffic authorities expect increased traffic around the exhibition center, especially on Saturday and Sunday, although there should be sufficient parking spaces.

The "Graz football derby" between SK Sturm and GAK will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 17 p.m. With around 16.000 spectators expected, there will be traffic jams and delays in the area around the Merkur Arena. Fans are advised to use tram line 4 or use parking garages to avoid parking problems.

At the same time, the European Table Tennis Championships will be held in the TIPS Arena in Linz, which also attracts a large audience. Here too, isolated delays in traffic are possible, especially at weekends. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport to avoid traffic jams.
