UK: Soon “hotel quarantine” for incoming travelers?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Great Britain is under pressure to act because of the rapidly spreading corona mutation. The cabinet around Prime Minister Boris Johnson is planning to introduce mandatory quarantine for travelers.

These plans would still stand on shaky ground. It is still unclear from when and for which states these regulations will apply. According to the aviation portal, observers would not rule out that they only affect high-risk areas Aero. Isolation - to ensure it is effective - is to take place in designated "quarantine hotels". Travelers are to cover the costs themselves. According to calculations by British media, they would have to reckon with the equivalent of around 1.125 euros for ten days. This would certainly stimulate the accommodation business. But representatives of the aviation industry warn that even stricter measures would be "catastrophic" and would practically close the borders.
