Verdi announces strike at Dusseldorf airport

The German trade union Verdi is calling on security workers at Düsseldorf Airport to walk out on Friday. Air passenger control, personnel and goods controls as well as the wheelchair service are affected by the warning strike.

Workers' representatives said the walkouts would start at 3:00 am and end around midnight. The background is a wage dispute. In the two previous rounds of talks, no agreement could be reached. The negotiating partner is not Düsseldorf Airport, but the Federal Association of Aviation Security Companies.

It is to be expected that due to the announced strike, air traffic to/from Düsseldorf will be severely restricted. Passengers should therefore regularly check the status of their booking and, if necessary, arrive at Düsseldorf Airport as early as possible.
