Cockpit Association sharply criticizes Lufthansa Cargo management

Aerologic, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Deutsche Post-DHL, will add another Boeing 777 freighter to the fleet. This was met with sharp criticism from the Vereinigung Cockpit pilots' union, which accused the "course against its own workforce being continued".

"The company's strategy continues to be directed against its own workforce in the cockpit and on the ground," says VC President Stefan Herth. “We have heard from various Cargo executives that they are fighting over the new planes. These assurances are obviously just lip service. With the decision that has now been made, the management is preventing the long-term safeguarding of jobs at Lufthansa Cargo as well as growth back to old size. Against the background of the record profits that have been generated by all employees together with great personal commitment, this decision is completely incomprehensible to us. We call on Lufthansa to let Lufthansa Cargo manage the upcoming Boeing 777s and thus strengthen its own workforce.”
