The insurance company Wiener Städtische, in cooperation with Flughafen Wien AG, now offers travel insurance that can be purchased when booking parking spaces or via the airport's free WLAN. For the time being it is a pilot project.

"This easy access offers travelers maximum flexibility and convenience, as they can even secure their trip a few minutes before departure," says Wiener Städtische Deputy General Manager Sonja Steßl, emphasizing: "With this cooperation, we underline our service excellence and enable passengers to take out insurance cover that is tailored to their needs and travel behavior."

"Good financial protection against unpleasant surprises - that's what travel insurance offers, which can now be taken out easily and unbureaucratically at the airport. The desire for untroubled holiday fun has increased significantly again. For the main travel season of July and August 2023, Vienna Airport is expecting around seven million passengers, which is just below the level of the record year 2019 and underlines that the need to travel has increased significantly again. This new service offered in cooperation with Wiener Städtische Versicherung allows all passengers to start their vacation with more security,” says Günther Ofner, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.
