Vienna: Security staff meetings announced

On Tuesday, the employee representatives want to hold a works meeting for the security staff working at Vienna Airport. This is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. A high turnout is expected, so that passenger handling could be impaired.

The employees of Vienna International Airport Security Services are affected. Works council chief Walter Burianek told the Kurier that he expects around 600 to 800 employees to take part in the meeting. Higher wages are required. The union Vida describes the current level as "starvation wages".

Vienna Airport was surprised by the "Kurier". A spokesman said, among other things: "From the point of view of the airport, the saber-rattling celebrated here by the union on the backs of the passengers is completely unnecessary". It is also pointed out that the current remuneration system was only agreed with the union and works council in the summer of 2022.
