The Irish airline Aer Lingus is celebrating its 20th anniversary at Vienna International Airport. The carrier has been serving the Dublin route since October 2002. Up to four rounds per week are currently offered.

“We congratulate Aer Lingus on their anniversary in Vienna! Travelers have had a constant and reliable connection between Ireland and Austria for two decades. This connection is valuable for tourism in both directions and we are very happy about this long-standing and continued good cooperation,” says Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.

Aer Lingus is part of the International Airlines Group and has been flying between Dublin and Vienna for 20 years - with few interruptions. At present, aircraft of the Airbus A320 type are mainly used on this route. The company was founded in 1936 and currently serves over 100 routes, including 62 destinations from Ireland to the UK and Europe. The airline operates 19 transatlantic routes from Dublin, Shannon and Manchester (UK) to North America and the Caribbean.

“We have been looking forward to flying to Vienna Airport for 20 years and thus offering a direct connection between Ireland and Austria. The Austrian capital is a popular destination for city breaks in the heart of Europe. Aer Lingus will be flying four times a week from Dublin to Vienna this winter, offering customers good value for money in both Vienna and Dublin. We look forward to continuing our direct flights to Vienna in the future,” said Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus.

Shouldn't it read “The carrier has been serving the Dublin route since October 2002.”
