The low-cost airline Vueling will significantly expand its presence at Hamburg Airport in the 2023 summer flight schedule. According to the airport, around 60 percent more flights will be offered than in the previous period.
At the end of March 2023, the IAG Group member will increase the frequencies on the existing Barcelona route to two daily flights. On July 3, 2023, a new connection to Bilbao will be launched. This is to be served on Monday and Friday traffic days. Three rotations per week are to be offered on the existing route to Paris-Orly.
“Many North Germans are currently planning their next flight. We are all the more pleased that Vueling is expanding its commitment from Hamburg and making the popular holiday destination of Spain even more flexible for our passengers. The fact that the airline flies to Barcelona twice a day throughout the summer season once again underscores the great demand in northern Germany for holidays in sunny regions,” says Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport.
From Hamburg it goes to Bilbao on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and on Fridays at 14:35 p.m. The flight time is around 2,5 hours. From the end of March 2023, North Germans will arrive in the capital of the Spanish region of Catalonia every morning and evening. The planes take off from Hamburg at 11:05 a.m. and 20:40 p.m. and land in Barcelona around 2,5 hours later.
“On behalf of Vueling, we are delighted to strengthen our offer from Hamburg Airport by increasing capacity to Barcelona and also adding Bilbao as a new destination with two weekly direct flights in summer 2023. Bilbao offers a variety of reasons to visit. This means that three interesting destinations are now available to our customers from Hamburg,” comments Ulla Bär, Country Manager DACH, Benelux & Nordics.
