The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air currently only serves three destinations from Vienna. There will be - not surprisingly - a major resumption at the beginning of the summer timetable period 2021.

The carrier postponed the reactivation or new addition of almost all routes. In some cases, Wizz Air does not want to rush to the currently fallow tracks until mid-June 2021. A particularly blatant example is Zaporizhia, which was announced as a new route in the 2020 summer flight schedule. The carrier repeatedly postponed the first flight and has now announced the Ukrainian destination for June 3, 2021. If this date is kept, you will be around a year late due to the pandemic.

A look at the plans of Wizz Air shows that the low-cost airline is planning extremely conservatively and cautiously. Almost all routes are started with low frequency. Only a closer look at the flight plan shows that an increase is also being considered in the months following reactivation. It remains to be seen whether this will keep the admission dates and the subsequent planned frequency increases this time. Due to the unclear situation with regard to the corona pandemic and the very slow progress in vaccinations, a renewed adaptation of the Wizz Air flight plan would not be a surprise.

As of February 23, 2021, Wizz Air is planning the following destinations from Vienna:
