In the 2022/23 winter flight schedule, Ryanair will be offering a total of 19 destinations from Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport. With Gran Canaria and Bergamo there are two new destinations. Two Boeing 737-800s operated by Malta Air are based on site.
The low-cost airline plans to operate around 90 flights a week from the German airport, which is close to the French border. The Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden base has existed for about ten years. "We are pleased that Ryanair has committed to the Baden-Airpark location and that we are thus continuing our long-standing successful partnership. The increase in frequencies to Alicante and Girona and the return of the winter routes to Sofia and Agadir will further increase the popularity of FKB, as Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport is also known,” explains Airport Manager Uwe Kotzan.
Speaking for Ryanair, DA-CH spokesman Andreas Gruber said: "As Europe's No. 1 airline, Ryanair is delighted to announce our record-breaking winter schedule for Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, offering more than 90 weekly flights on 19 routes, including two new routes to Gran Canaria and Milan-Bergamo, giving our Baden-Badeners more options to choose from for their well-deserved vacation in the winter sun. We are still celebrating the 10th anniversary of the opening of our Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden base this year, which allows us to base two aircraft at the airport for this winter flight schedule. Ryanair is happy to invest in regional airports and continue the growth of Baden-Baden Airport to encourage inbound tourism in rural areas, while the German government forgets to connect these regions and their citizens and additionally wastes taxpayers' money on Lufthansa, which only disappointed their customers and reduced their capacities".
