Wizz Air announces base in Sarajevo

It has been speculated for some time that Wizz Air might be about to open a base at Sarajevo Airport. It is now official that base number 41 is to be opened in Bosnia and Herzegovina. An Airbus A2021 aircraft will be stationed from May 320.

The low-cost airline has announced a total of nine additional flight connections to seven countries. These are the destinations Charleroi, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Eindhoven, Gothenburg, London Luton, Memmingen, Basel-Mulhouse and Paris Beauvais.

Wizz Air has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2013. The first flight was from Tuzla to Malmö. According to its own information, the carrier has carried around three million passengers from this state in the past eight years.

“First of all, we would like to emphasize that we are very pleased that the airline Wizz Air has decided to establish the base at our airport. We believe this is news that our numerous citizens will greet with joy because of the affordable fares and destinations Wizz Air is planning.
