Wizz Air does not include Vienna-Salerno

Advertising

The low-cost airline Wizz Air's entry into the Salerno airport market will be smaller than originally announced. Among other things, flights to Vienna have been removed from the plans.

Wizz Air Malta had planned to offer two weekly non-stop flights between the Austrian capital and the Italian airport starting October 27, 2024. This will now not happen – at least for the time being – as the low-cost carrier has suspended sales and completely removed the route from its booking system without further notice.

The airline did not comment on the reasons, but it is not unlikely that the airline was dissatisfied with the advance bookings and that, given the well-known engine problems that have affected Wizz Air as well as many other airlines, the planned aircraft can be used more economically elsewhere.
