The return of the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizzair to Austria's second largest airport, Salzburg, will not only be significantly smaller, but will be postponed again. Now wants to return at the end of April 2021.

The low-cost airline started various routes to Salzburg in summer 2020, but withdrew without communication after a few weeks. The announced routes to Kiev-Schuljany and St. Petersburg have not yet been included. The comeback will be smaller, because with the exception of Varna, all Balkan destinations have been removed from the Salzburg Wizz Air flight schedule.

The first flights to Kiev and St. Petersburg should actually take place in September 2020, but these have been repeatedly postponed. Wizzair is now announcing these for April 19, 2021 and April 30, 2021. Flights to Varna are scheduled to begin on April 26, 2021. It remains to be seen whether the dates will hold this time.

In contrast to Vienna, the low-cost airline does not station any aircraft in Salzburg. The three destinations are served by planes based in other cities.
