The Wörgötter restaurant in Ligist, Styria, pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the evening at this year's Michelin star awards ceremony. The young restaurateur couple Florian Wörgötter and Julia Mausser were awarded a Michelin star, making them one of the best restaurants in Austria. The Wörgötter inn also received the coveted Bib Gourmand, which stands for particularly good value for money. This double award is a special honor for the two of them, especially since they have never been rated so highly in any other restaurant guide.
Florian Wörgötter and Julia Mausser recently took over the restaurant and inn from their parents and are now running it successfully. In the kitchen, Florian Wörgötter focuses on innovative, upscale cuisine, while his partner Julia Mausser is responsible for service. The awards not only recognize their culinary achievements, but also the many years of work of the family, which has turned a former discotheque into a well-known inn. "It is a huge surprise and a huge appreciation for the work of the entire team," commented Florian Wörgötter proudly.
The Wörgötter restaurant offers its guests two concepts under one roof: the classic inn with an excellent price-performance rating and the fine dining restaurant, which has now been awarded a Michelin star and two toques in the Gault&Millau. The Wörgötter family and their employees are now in a row with the best restaurateurs in Styria.
