From next year, the fleet at Eurowings is to be renewed with at least 13 aircraft from the Airbus A320neo series. The first unit will be an A320neo and is expected in spring 2022.
A spokeswoman confirmed to Aero.de that the first A321neo will be taken over in spring 2023. According to CH-Aviation.com, at least ten machines of this type should join the Eurowings fleet. The deliveries of the new additions are to take place in the years 2022 to 2024.
The Eurowings fleet currently consists of 31 A319s, 48 A320s and two A321s. Another seven A319 and nine A320 are registered on the AOC of Eurowings Europe. CH-Aviation.com reports that an A319 is still registered on the Germanwings intended for closure. All other aircraft are in the storage.
If you hide Germanwings, Eurowings Discover and Edelweiss Air, all other flight operations will be equipped with A320neo / A321neo. This does not apply to Austrian Airlines, as Lufthansa has not yet announced any fleet renewal plans for this subsidiary.
