Austrian Airlines is currently looking for some new employees in the office and station areas via the personnel service provider Manpower. Applications for these positions are not to be sent to the airline, but to an e-mail address of the service provider. However, the appointments are made directly with the AUA, as a spokeswoman confirmed.
In Austrian aviation, the airlines Niki and Laudamotion, which no longer exist, have so far stood for temporary work. The successor Lauda Europe has numerous employees who are employed via Crewlink. Other providers, such as Austrian Airlines and Wizz Air, currently do not use personnel leasing.
It should stay that way at the AUA. But why is Manpower looking for employees for the Lufthansa subsidiary? According to Austrian Airlines, the reason behind this is that this company was hired as a service provider for the search for potential new employees. The jobs should be directly with the airline. So these are not temporary jobs.
An AUA spokeswoman told Aviation.Direct: “Austrian Airlines does not employ temporary workers. As is the case in all sectors, we at Austrian Airlines are currently feeling a very high demand for specialists for vacant positions in our company. For this current peak in recruitment, we are working with the company Manpower, which supports us in the recruitment process and in the placement of qualified applicants".
When asked explicitly whether it can be ruled out that the advertised positions for which Manpower is tasked with recruiting personnel are not temporary workers, the media officer replied: "Yes, we can confirm that. The employment takes place directly with us as Austrian Airlines".
