In the 2023/24 winter timetable, Austrian Airlines will also be flying from Vienna-Schwechat to Kittilä, Rovaniemi and Seville. This increases the range to 86 destinations, 16 of which are long-haul destinations.
"With the expansion of our winter flight schedule, we are successfully positioning ourselves as number one in Austria and offering our customers the opportunity to discover new places. We are proud to be able to continuously expand our network! With the expansion of our market, we are successfully positioning ourselves as number one in Austria and at the Vienna hub,” explains Chief Commercial Officer Michael Trestl.
The Finnish Rovaniemi will be served as part of the charter program from December 2023. Kittilä is positioned as a destination that is explicitly aimed at winter sports enthusiasts. It's already going to Seville from October 14, 2023.
There are small innovations on long-haul routes: in future, the destination of Shanghai will be served four times a week. Austrian Airlines also wants to fly more frequently to New York-Newark, Marrakech and Cairo. Tourist destinations such as Mauritius, Bangkok, the Maldives and Cancún will again be served regularly in the coming winter. According to company information, more charter flights to Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Las Palmas will be operated again in winter 2023/24.
