Cologne/Bonn Airport with high autumn demand

Cologne/Bonn Airport expects that the airport will be in high demand during the current autumn holidays in 2023. There were particularly many guests on Friday, September 29, 2023. The airport was used by around 200.000 passengers on the first weekend.

The most popular holiday destinations are Turkey, Spain and Italy, with most travelers flying to Antalya or Palma. Popular destinations are also Istanbul and London. In October the airport is expecting a total of over a million passengers again.

“We are pleased that the upward trend in summer holidays continues into the autumn holidays and that the desire to travel remains unbroken,” says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. “Overall, the number of passengers has developed very positively; in the last few months of July, August and September we welcomed over 1 million passengers. We will break this mark again in October,” said Schmid. Around 2022 percent of the 80 passenger level had already been reached in autumn 2019, and now it is even 87 percent during the autumn holidays.
