Coming from Gran Canaria on Sunday, February 18, 2024, an Airbus A320 operated by Eurowings suffered a double tire blowout while landing in Hamburg.

All passengers and crew members were able to leave the medium-haul jet uninjured. The medium-haul jet had to be towed from the runway due to the damage. The airport fire department cooled the landing gear for safety reasons. The German aviation accident investigation authority BFU has now initiated proceedings. The aircraft was towed to a hangar for closer examination.
