Munich Airport continues to be one of the best connected airports in Europe. According to a current study by OAG (Official Airline Guide), a leading institution for data collection in the aviation and travel industry, the Bavarian air traffic hub is in sixth place in a European comparison in terms of the number and quality of flight connections. This makes Munich one of the best transfer airports after London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airports.

The great connectivity of Munich Airport is due to the rapid restart of air traffic after the corona pandemic. As soon as the recovery phase began after travel restrictions were lifted, the largest provider in Munich, the Lufthansa Group and its partner airlines, decided to resume most connections. In September 2023, 79 airlines from Munich Airport regularly offered non-stop service to 204 destinations in 60 countries. Of these, 15 destinations are within Germany. 142 destinations are located in 36 European countries. 23 destinations are offered in 47 countries outside Europe.
